The seating in the library of Chloe Warner's Noe Valley Edwardian takes the form of sink-into-them-deep white canvas club chairs from Ruby Living, which also serve, by thte looks of it, as cozy cradles for maximum reading comfort.

The Montana native claims that the color-coded books reflect her Virgo star sign. "Organizing by color is like my own Dewey decimal system," she says. The juicy hues contrast with the earty jute rug and mink-colored walls.

Warner's "Yankee Glamour" style is based in wildlife sightings such as the brass deer from Found and the $1,899 Pancha Tantra book by Walton Ford, featuring sumptuous (and sinister) natural-science illustrations.

Bootsie the cat, a fluffy 31st-birthday gift from Warner's husband, Andrew, was adopted from the local SPCA. She possesses a deadly sneer that deserves its own graphic in the aforementioned Pancha Tantra.

Warner purchased the glass-topped vintage side table from X21 on Valencia Street. Its aluminum base adds a bit of heavy-metal formality to the library, "I just love the hint of shine in the fretwork," she says.
